e. Installation.
WARNING
Do not use steel hammers to seat bearing
cups in drive yokes. Failure to comply
may result in injury to personnel or
damage to equipment.
CAUTION
Check bearing cups to ensure all needle
bearings are in place prior to installation.
Replace bearing cups if needle bearings are
missing or out of place. Failure to comply
may result in damage to equipment.
NOTE
Wipe end of yoke bearing bores prior to
installation.
(1) Install two grease fittings (1) in universal joint (2).
(2) Position universal joint (2) on drive shaft (3) with two
bearing cups (4) and four screws (5).
NOTE
When correct torque is reached, bearing cap
screw small hex head will break off.
(3) Tighten four screws (5).
(4) Deleted.
CAUTION
Grease must flow from all four seals. Failure to
comply may result in damage to equipment.
(5) Apply lubrication to grease fittings (1).
(6) Perform steps (1) through (5) on opposite end of drive
shaft (3).
